RIo Vista Incident (LAFD)
Los Angeles Firefighters battled a Major Emergency Fire in a large one-story commercial building in Boyle Heights.
3/10/16: Major Emergncy Commercial Structrue Fire, 1566 S Rio Vista Avenue. 150’ x 250’ crescent shaped conventional one-story commercial building. E17 had heavy fire showing on arrival and requested 3 additional task forces. It was a defensive firefight, with approximately a dozen heavy streams operating. Structural collapse soon followed on the Alpha side threatening E17s rig. Extension was stopped before the fire was able to extend to a similar attached exposure to the west (120' x 120' irregular) Tome of alarm 1947hrs. Knockdown in 2 hours and 14 minutes. No injuries
