7/1/12: 2nd Alarm Residential Structure Fire, 704 Lake Street Huntington Beach, CA
1st Alarm: HB Engine 45, 41, 44; HB Truck 45, Truck 42; HB Battalion 4
2nd alarm: HB Engine 46, 43, 42, FV Truck 31, FV Battalion 3
Incident Summary/Update
Units responded to a 2 story condominium complex with fire that had spread from the garage throughout the entire unit, approximately 2,000 square feet. The resident was out of the unit before arrival. At 2208 hrs , Huntington Beach Fire units were dispatched to a report of a garage fire at 704 Lake. Upon arrival, at 2211hrs., units found fire in the garage and throughout the entire unit and called for a second alarm. One resident was at home at the time of the fire but had exited without injury because neighbors woke him up by pounding on the door. The fire was kept from spreading from the initial unit and declared under control at 10:32 p.m. One bystander was evaluated for smoke inhalation, and released on scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
